South Asians for Human Rights (SAHR), expresses its heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the late Justice (R) Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim, former chief election commissioner of Pakistan, upon his death on Tuesday, 7 January , 2020.
It is indeed with deep sadness that SAHR has learnt of the death of one of SAHR’s founding bureau members and a member since its inception.
In the passing of Justice Fakhruddin G Ebrahim the region has lost a great towering legal mind who served with boundless dedication and commitment. He served as an eminent jurist, constitutional expert, senior advocate of the Supreme Court, former federal law minister, former Attorney General of Pakistan, former judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and former Governor of Sindh. We shall indeed miss his commitment towards justice, peace and human rights in Pakistan and South Asia.
