SAHR is currently conducting its second peace mission from 19 – 21 December 2015 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. To start off, the peace mission is meeting with Sri Lankan civil society working on peace, transitional justice and reconciliation.
South Asian Peace Mission met the Chairperson, Dr. Deepika Udagama and Commissioner, Ambika Satkunanathan, of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka.
The South Asian Peace Mission met with officials of the Office of National Unity and Reconciliation at the Presidential Secretariat of Sri Lanka
As their last mission, South Asian Peace Mission met with officials of the United Nations in Sri Lanka to discuss their findings and the work of the UN.
At the end of their mission, the South Asian Peace Mission held a Press Conference in Colombo to share their findings and the message of regional peace and solidarity amongst South Asian civil societies.
