SAHR conducted a factfinding mission from 6-10 January 2025 to investigate the compensation process for persons affected by the 2022 climate-induced floods in the Sindh Province. This mission entailed a local delegation – SAHR members Farooq Tariq, Mohammad Tahseen and Ahmad Rafay Alam with Shahnaz Sheedi of South Asia Partnership (SAPPK).The mission visited Sindh’s Larkana, Shikarpur, Hyderabad districts, Nawabshah tehsil and Karachi city to meet with the affected persons and other relevant stakeholders such as government officials, NGO representatives, Trade Union representatives, politicians and World Bank representatives and to observe the current situation of the compensation process.
