The Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development, as the Secretariat of the Asian NGO Network on National Human Rights Institutions (ANNI), is pleased to present the Report on the Performance and Establishment of National Human Rights Institutions in Asia in 2016. The 2016 ANNI Report is based on country reports with analysis of national developments that took place throughout 2015 in each of the countries included in the publication.
The 2016 ANNI Report primarily focuses on issues of independence and effectiveness of the National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs), looking also at the trend and level of engagement of the NHRIs with other stakeholders, such as civil society and parliament.
